Philip S. DeSenze, D.D.S.
Dr. DeSenze received his pre-dental undergraduate B.S. and postgraduate D.D.S. degrees from Ohio State University. A practicing dentist since 1986, Dr. DeSenze opened his current location in Pompano Beach in 1996, and specializes in general and cosmetic dental services.
National Dental Board Affiliation: Dr. DeSenze has just completed his third year as a National Dental Board Examiner with the CDCA. The CDCA (The Commission on Dental Competency Assessments) is the organization that that tests graduating Dental Students and Dental Hygiene students. Students must pass a rigorous clinical patient oriented exam to be granted a License to practice their profession when they graduate from their professional schools. Without this license they can not enter the public sector to provide Dental care to patients. Dr DeSenze and other CDCA examiners are actively present on the clinic floor to oversee and actually grade each student on their clinical performance. The students compile a grade based on different aspects with emphasis on quality of care, that grade then determines whether they are granted licensure to practice Dentistry.
Katyanne Lima, Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH)
Born in Brazil, Katy lived in Connecticut for 12 years before moving to Florida in 2011. She attended Fones School of Dental Hygiene at University of Bridgeport, Connecticut and has been in the dental field since 2004. Her experience as a Dental Assistant prior to Dental Hygiene school strengthened her abilities as a Hygienist, it helped her relate easily and comfortably with all types of people and to appreciate each person’s uniqueness. She enjoys working with people and helping patients achieve their optimal oral health.
Alexa DeSenze, Office Coordinator
Alexa joined the team in July 2022. Prior to joining our practice, she attended the University of Florida studying Business and furthering her education in South Florida. Her role is that of an office coordinator. She enjoys helping and interacting with the patients. Alexa loves traveling, reading and spending time outdoors. She values quality time with her family, friends and pets.
Alysson Piccolino, Insurance Coordinator
Alysson Piccolino is our insurance coordinator. She started in the dental field spending one year working as a dental assistant then transferring to the front desk. She has four years of experience in working with dental insurance.“I learn new and interesting things from patients so I enjoy interacting with them. There is always a joy to see them satisfied after their visit to the office.”
Melissa, Dental Assistant
Happily married and the mother of 4 children, Melissa graduated as a Dental Assistant in 1996. She specialized in Pediatric Dental services for many years prior to joining DeSenze Dentistry & Associates in May, 2020. “I love my career, and I enjoy working with people.”
Jacqueline Warenda, Dental Assistant
Jackie was born in Orange, NJ and moved to Plantation, FL in 1976. She attended Broward College and Lindsey Hopkins Technical College in Miami FL where she received her Expanded Functions Dental Assistant Certificate. In addition, she earned her State Radiology License at Memorial Regional. Jackie has over 35 years of experience in the dental field, prior to joining DeSenze Dentistry in 2021.
